Sun Tzu and his Art of War for business?
Posted on March 4, 2011
Sun Tzu wrote the Art of War in the late sixth century BC. Some believe that even today, the writings can “enlighten” our own world of (business) war whether it is in the Board Room, Sales Team, or Managing Suppliers.
The following are snippets of key phrases, so, still relevant today?
The enlightened ruler lays his plans well ahead. The good leader cultivates his resources.
When you surround an army, leave an outlet free. Do not press a desperate foe to hard.
Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.
Victorious warriors win first then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win.
A skilled commander seeks victory from the situation and does not demand it of his subordinates.
What do you think? Still got a place in today’s business world? www.ktaluk.com
